There are no ads, banners or reviews on ResearchPain.Net (Yes, that's our advertising policy). The sole purpose of this site is for researching pain.
Whether it is investigating a medication, a condition, or an intervention (whether new or millenia old) we want to see data collected. Medicine needs to be as scientifically sound as possible, and the only way for this to happen is with research.
That's where we come in. We hope to provide internet based research now, for results in the future.
Who is running this site?
The short answer is medical professionals.
The long answer is a physician (James Mooney, MD) in the United States who is pursuing specialized training in both pediatric anesthesia and pediatric pain. Explanations, definitions, and information on this site are provided by James Mooney (Please remember, it is for information ONLY. Not medical care.) However, to help keep the site simple, and without issues of sponsorship or allegience, there are no biographies and such. As others become involved from time to time, this would be reflected in the results of the research (primarily research articles....) rather than on this site.
No matter who is involved in the site, this is a personal project of James Mooney, with no outside funds. Even research funds will not be used for this site, and researchers will not be charged for use.
Who can become involved?
Anyone who is interested in conducting sound research into pain using the internet. If you have a research protocol you're in the process of developing, and hope to use the internet, we'd be happy to try to help with the study.

The information provided on ResearchPain.Net is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her physician.
